AVM celebrates 40 years with new reference amplifier and complete Ovation S series

During the first edition of the High End fair in Vienna this year, the German high-end manufacturer AVM Audio celebrated its 40th anniversary with a series of important product introductions. In addition to the new reference amplifier Ovation AS XL, the brand also presented the Ovation MA 8.3 S mono power amplifier and the Ovation SA 8.3 S stereo power amplifier. With this, the new Ovation S series is now complete.

The new MA 8.3 S and SA 8.3 S build upon the previously introduced CS 8.3 S all-in-one, AS 8.3 S integrated streaming amplifier, PAS 8.3 S preamplifier, and MP 8.3 S media player. Both power amplifiers feature AVM’s latest tube input stage, fully balanced circuits, and powerful Class A/AB output stages. The MA 8.3 S monoblock delivers up to 1,200 watts, while the SA 8.3 S stereo amp provides 400 watts per channel. According to AVM, both models combine enormous power reserves with refined, musical reproduction and an exceptionally spacious soundstage.

The absolute eye-catcher at the trade show was, however, the new Ovation AS XL. This integrated streaming amplifier is based on the technology of the new power amplifiers and delivers more than 400 watts per channel. The addition of “XL” not only refers to the impressive size of the amplifier but also to the Roman numeral 40, as a tribute to AVM’s anniversary year. With this, the manufacturer explicitly positions the AS XL as the new top model within the range.

Bronze Anniversary Edition

On the occasion of the anniversary, AVM is also introducing a limited Bronze Edition of various CS 2.3 and AS 2.3 models from the Inspiration series. These special editions are distinguished by a very sharply reduced price and an exclusive bronze finish, and will only be produced for a limited period.
