This is a summary of the Media Room and its operational components as of August 2025.
New in this incarnation are a desk extension on the left to accommodate a Mac in addition to the main Win PC, a pair of Martin Logan Electromotion ESLs as main speakers for the cinema setup, and a hugely comfortable electrically adjustable reclining comfort chair. I always resisted getting one of these because I didn’t like their bulky, old-fashioned looks. I still don’t think it’s good-looking, and it dominates the room, but the comfort is unbeatable.
By the way, although Logans and other dipoles should not be placed close to the back wall, I get away with this thanks to the surround amplifier’s Audyssey DSP, bass management with a separate sub, and the surround system’s different requirements from a stereo setup.
