New JPLAY Brings HQPlayer Library Support, Smart Playlists, and a New History Screen
JPLAY just released one of its most significant updates since launch. The update brings full HQPlayer library integration, a new History screen with calendar-based listening activity view, and Smart Playlists that automatically populate based on user-defined criteria — alongside a range of refinements driven directly by community feedback.
This update brings together one of the most-requested features in the app’s recent history, along with a number of new productivity and discovery improvements. The update is available now in the latest version of the JPLAY app.
HQPlayer library support
Full integration with HQPlayer library is now available. Users running HQPlayer Embedded or HQPlayer Desktop can now browse, control, and play their HQPlayer library directly from JPLAY — combining JPLAY’s refined audiophile interface with HQPlayer’s industry-leading upsampling and DSP capabilities. This integration removes the need for a separate local UPnP server for HQPlayer users, and brings them the same fast, elegant browsing experience that JPLAY is known for.
New History screen
The new History screen makes it effortless to revisit what you’ve played. Tracks are organized by day, and a calendar view highlights listening activity — days with longer sessions appear as brighter dots in the calendar grid, so users can instantly find their most musical days and jump back into them. The History screen is accessible from the side menu, or via a new “Recent Listening” widget on the Home screen for one-tap access.
Smart Playlists
Smart Playlists are dynamic playlists that are created automatically based on user-defined filters — by library, genre, audio quality, year, and more. This automates playlist creation according to the user’s own criteria, making it a very convenient tool when you don’t have a specific playlist in mind, or simply don’t feel like building one yourself.
