Chord Mojo 2 updated with a 4.4mm jack and USB-C charging
New 4,4mm headphone output and USB-C charging/data port
Chord Electronics has upgraded the renowned Mojo 2 DAC/headphone amplifier with a 4.4mm headphone output and USB‑C input that can now be used for charging and data transfer.
The main change to the UK-built Mojo 2 is the replacement of one of the two 3.5mm outputs with the increasingly popular 4.4mm connection. This improvement provides the Mojo 2 with access to a broader range of headphones while maintaining the existing 3.5mm output.
Additionally, the 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs have independent memory for volume and DSP settings. In response to customer feedback, Chord Electronics has also further improved the Mojo 2 with switchable USB‑C charging, simplifying the charging process. Previously, only micro-USB charging was possible, but now, the device’s existing USB‑C port supports both data transfer and charging. Notably, both major upgrades are implemented without any price increase: the leading Mojo 2 remains available at €499.

About the Mojo 2
Designed, developed, and built in the UK, the Mojo 2 is a highly advanced portable digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and headphone amplifier powered by Chord’s own technology.
The Mojo 2 is built around a very powerful FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) processor and uses the renowned digital filter architecture developed by Chord Electronics’ own sound engineer, Rob Watts. The Mojo 2 delivers sublime sound quality, whether on the go with headphones or when used as a desktop or hi-fi component.
Crucial to the Mojo 2 is the world’s first lossless Digital Signal Processor (DSP). The innovative ‘UHD DSP’ is fully transparent, allowing extensive tone adjustments across the entire frequency range without any degradation in sound quality. This unique technology gives the Mojo 2 unmatched flexibility when combined with other hardware, plus exceptional control over digital music, regardless of age, recording quality, or genre.
Another significant new feature compared to the original Mojo is the button-controlled menu system, which offers functions such as mute, a four-level crossfeed setting, a travel lock, and control over lossless tone adjustment and USB-C charging.
The Mojo 2 also features significantly improved battery management with a new FPGA-controlled charging system, ensuring faster, cooler, and more efficient charging, with 75% less energy loss and a minimum battery life of over 8 hours. Additionally, there is an enhanced Intelligent Desktop Mode that allows the device to remain permanently connected to a power source without affecting sound quality or battery life.
Digital inputs include the newly upgraded switchable USB-C data/charging port, micro-USB data, optical, and coaxial (including dual-data for use with the M Scaler).
Handcrafted in the United Kingdom, the precision CNC-milled high-quality aluminum chassis offers unparalleled build quality, fitting for its status as a leading portable DAC. Thanks to the continued use of micro-USB, the Mojo 2 remains fully compatible with the Poly streamer/server module for wireless streaming and playback from a micro-SD card.
