Aequo Audio showed their brand new Ensium speaker, a 500W bass-assisted 3-way speaker with a room and placement correction system that operates fully in the analog domain. The system consists of a Taiko Audio Extreme music server, Playback Designs MPT8 transport and MPD-8 DAC, and WestminsterLab Quest and Rei amplification.
The speaker enclosure is made of the Aequo-proprietary Diluvite material.
From the Aequo website:
“Diluvite pushes the boundaries of what a loudspeaker enclosure can do (or should we say what it does not do – resonate). Diluvite is twice as stiff as aluminum, offering ten times better damping measured from 1 to 100.000 Hz and it turns vibrations into heat. It’s castable, allowing us to produce complex design shapes necessary to eliminate internal reflections and reduce resonances.”
