This cable was purchased after repeated endorsements of readers of this site. Personally, I always figured that it was simply a Lapp cable with a colored sleeve instead of transparent, with custom printing. But this was just a hunch, and hunches have to be proven. So, finally, I decided to make a comparison between the Isotek and a Lapp cable that matched its looks quite closely: comparable connectors, screening, and geometry.
Even though the Isotek looks much like a Lapp (outside as well as inside), it does sound different. There was no Lapp-typical smooth, big, fat sound but instead an upbeat, lively and confident sound. The Isotek has very good bass solidity, speed and articulation yet isn’t the most nimble cable of this test. Its midrange is not shut-in nor shouty but ir is lacking a little in resolution and smoothness. Finally, its treble is also good for this price class: not coarse or rough, but many cables sound more fluid and refined. Compared to a Lapp 110CY it has a more communicative quality but also more dryness and less creamy mids and treble. This cable probably does a nice job of opening up the sound in mid-range systems that need some spicing up.

I used to own one of these IsoTek cables and unlike you found no clear differences vs the Lapp 110 at all. I’d like to trial a few power cables so asking for your recommendations up to lets say €100 new or second hand. The Belden 2.1mm you reviewed is already on my list.

My current affordable favorites are Belden 19364 (with Furutech or Oyaide connectors) and Furutech Alpha 3 (with Furutech FI-38 connectors).
