MBL Omni-directional speakers remain a unique proposition, and are always fascinating to behold. From demos I attended, I know these speakers sound beautifully spacious and the music effortlessly fills the room. However, this trait comes at the expense of a measure of focus and tangibility.
MBL hosted a live performance.
MBL Noble line of electronics, all customizable in a wide range of colors and accents.
The Alsyvox Raffaello with a full Soulution system sounded very lifelike, according to JF.
The system includes the interesting Soulution 787 Linear-Tracking Turntable where the platter moves rather than the arm, reminding of what Sony did with their Fixed-Pickup CD mechanisms back in the day.
From the Soulution website:
“The tonearm combines the merits of linear and pivoted tonearms and thus provides the best from both worlds. There are no tracking forces exerted on the tonearm neither are there any issues with skating forces or tracking errors etc. Ultra precise inductive proximity sensors monitor the tonearm position and control the motor for the lateral movement of the platter which ensures that the tracking error always remains below +/- 0.15°.”
Deja-vu of the Gershman Acoustics speakers with TrueLifeAudio amplifier, dCS DAC, and Pink Faun Scion Streamer on Artesania Exoteryc racks, now covered by JF, who mentioned that he thinks the TLA amplifier is really good!
Marten with Audia Flight. These speakers sounded incredibly open and expressive through the midrange and treble, yet deep and full-blooded in the bass when I heard them in Munich last year.
Having been deeply impressed by the Magico S3 in 2023, here’s a system I have been holding out for: Wadax with Pilium and Antipodes on Artesania Exoteryc racks, showcasing the brand new Magico S2. According to JF, this system sounded really good!
