These very speakers are now the property of my audio buddy and very good friend JW, and they’re set up in my listening room for extended evaluation. They will be compared to Magnepan MG3.6R and MG20.7.<\/p>\n

After acquiring a pair of original Duetta Signatures and a pair of Centaurs, the Apogee bug bit me again… I have fallen back in love with these speakers and have even switched back to them as my main speakers. The Centaurs will always be special to me, but ultimately the Duetta Signature is a much better speaker.<\/p>\n

Generic Info<\/h2>\n

The second revision of the original Duetta was a visual and electrical redesign: the front lip of the Duetta cover was removed for a tidier appearance, and sturdy aluminum feet were added. The crossover was redesigned to enhance the high-frequency response and included a three-position mid\/tweeter level switch.<\/p>\n

According to reviewers, the Signature greatly improved the Duetta II’s bass performance, produced clearer high frequencies, and was less prone to sounding bass-heavy.<\/p>\n

When it was released, the Signature offered exceptional performance to the lucky few who could afford it, along with the necessary amplification.<\/p>\n

It likes to be well clear of walls 3-4 feet from the back wall, and at least 1-2 feet from the side walls, which helps imaging greatly.<\/p>\n

Duetta Reference<\/h2>\n

The Duetta Reference was a bespoke edition for the German market. This was actually a Duetta Signature with only one small modification in the crossover. The only difference is the addition of a single capacitor, which can easily be removed without further changes to restore the standard Duetta Signature sound.<\/p>\n

A DAX is a two-channel Dedicated Active Crossover designed specifically to be coupled with the Diva, Duetta Signature and Caliper Signature, or Mini Grand and Studio Grand speakers. A DAX provides exceptional tuning flexibility, enabling users to sculpt a tonal balance to meet their listening requirements whilst bypassing certain passive crossover components.
