Here are some new and current developments that I find particularly interesting, but haven't gotten around to listen to for myself.
MSB Analog DAC

Supposedly super-analog sounding but not as detailed and focused as the brand's best Platinum offering.

Price: 7000 usd (base unit including standard power supply and one input module). Seems sort of affordable, in MSB terms, right?

But then consider this:
1000/additional extra input module
1000 for Volume Control
1000 for wifi
1000 for RS232
3000 for matching power supply

Still, I find this product intriguing and have a feeling that it might sound very nice.

AudioNec Answer Dynamic Dipole speaker

Very special French design using technology that I haven't seen before: a midrange unit (actually its range covers 200 hz - 20.000 hz!) made of folded material with a central linear magnet system, a bass section made from 4 square dipole woofers with square voice coils and a ribbon tweeter as extra to cover the range from 15.000 upwards. To add visual spectacle, a range of RGB LEDs have been integrated with continuously free choice of colour.

Magnepan/Martin Logan sound from a dynamic speaker? Reading the reports it would seem so!

For a large selection of older, but still interesting, stunning, even superlative equipment, see this section.

Wadia Intuition 01

Following the Devialet D-Premier, Wadia now introduces something similar, with an even more striking design: an integrated DAC/preamp/poweramp with 32/384 capable USB input and native DSD playback. As far as I know, the Wadia isn't a hybrid design like the Devialet, but given my experiences with the brand, I'd say that this one could really be a winner. Projected price 7.500 - 10.000 usd.

Artesania Exoteryc

There are only a couple of brands that make ultra high end audioracks. You have Harmonic Resolution Systems (HRS), Copulare, Finite Elemente, Grand Prix and Symposium. These racks pretty much represent the best there is but can cost a small fortune depending on the model. Artesania definitely belong to the list but have been less visible, for me at least. After some research it turned out that there was no distribution in the Netherlands which explains the absence of the racks at local hifi shows. AudioAanZee has become official dealer and I have ordered a rack. Exciting times!
